Mysuru: Sandalwood’s Challenging Star Darshan Thoogudeepa came down heavily on those who criticise that Sandalwood artistes do not raise their voice for Cauvery issue.
Speaking at an event in Bannur on Sunday, the Sandalwood actor said it is not fair to blame the artistes when others are also making money. “Recently, a distributor minted Rs 36 cr for distributing a Tamil blockbuster in Karnataka. Unfortunately, Kannada movies do not get such reception here itself. But, the artistes are the easy target whenever there is a Cauvery crisis. I wonder why you all don’t expect people like that of distributors to raise their voices for Cauvery. For, it is you who helped him earn profit,” said Darshan.
Everytime, there is a Cauvery crisis, support is expected from Darshan, Shivanna, Sudeep, Yash or Abhi. You need to seek support from such distributors too, he reasoned.
Darshan’s speech video is already going viral on various social media handles.
Darshan was in Bannur to distribute native Hallikar breeds of cattle to farmers.
