1 min read

Dharwad: As the Cauvery row is intensifying through the State, farmers from North Karnataka have extended their support to the Cauvery agitation.

Farmers who are fighting for Mahadayi river share in North Karnataka have expressed their anger against the State government. “The State government is doing injustice to farmers fighting for both Cauvery and Mahadayi river share,” said farmer Veeresh Sobaradamutt in Dharwad on Friday.

Farmers of Tamil Nadu are reaping fruits of their crops at the cost of Karnataka farmers. “They do not need water now as they are not facing any crisis. But farmers in Cauvery heartland are facing at a drought situation. We want to express our solidarity. We will join agitating farmers in Mandya,” said farmers in Dharwad.

Earlier, members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike in Dharwad held a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here condemning the State government for releasing Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.
