Cauvery row: Kannada Chaluvali Kendra Samiti warns intensified protest against State govt

Mysuru: Kannada Chaluvali Kendra Samiti warned of an intensified agitation against the State government for continuing to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu ignoring farmers’ pleas.
At a meeting convened here at Jaladarshini guest house on Sunday, Samiti president Muguru Nanjundaswamy has accused the State government of not doing anything to protect the interests of the farmers. He warned of a strong protest in the coming days.
The meeting was of the opinion that it was unfortunate that the Cauvery water sharing pact follows age-old laws when the Constitutionsl laws are amended for time to time.
The Samiti decided to meet again on September 23 to decide next course of agitation.
Members P C Nagaraj, S D Rajesh and M Manjunath were present.
