Cauvery Arathi! DCM D K Sivakumar announces bigger plans like Ganga Arathi

Mandya: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, on Monday announced ambitious plans to perform Cauvery Arathi, to worship the river, on the lines of Ganga Arathi, performed at Varanasi, a popular pilgrimage centre, in Uttar Pradesh.
DCM D K Shivakumar, who visited Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir, which has reached its brim, inspected the reservoir, along with Agriculture Minister and District Incharge Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy.
Shivakumar said, he will be constituting a team of Mandya and Kodagu districts MLAs and Officers of Department of Religious Endowment and ask them to submit a report, about starting Cauvery Arathi, within a month.
He also assured to fill all the 1657 lakes in Cauvery irrigation area, with KRS reaching its full capacity, with the copious rain, being received in the area.
Shivakumar also informed about a technical report having been already received, to develop musical fountain at Brindavan Garden, to give a new look. Besides, Brindavan Amusement Park, will be developed on Public- Private-Partnership (PPP) model. It will be generating 8,000 to 10,000 local jobs, said Shivakumar.
MLAs Ramesh Babu Bandisiddegowda, K M Uday and Darshan Puttannaiah, MLC Dinesh Gooligowda, Mysugar Chairman C D Gangadhar, Additional Chief Secreatary Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Dr Kumara, ZP CEO Sheikh Tanveer Asif, Cauvery Neeravarai Nigama Limited Managing Director Mahesh and Executive Engineer of Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Raghuram and others were present.
