Car festival of Goddess Chamundeshwari held at Chamundi Hill

Mysuru: Car festival of the Goddess Chamundeshwari was held at Chamundi Hill in the city on Sunday.
Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, his wife Trishika Kumari and mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar took part in the related rituals.
The rathotsava was taken out during the auspicious time between 7.40 AM and 8.10 AM. The Utsava Murthy was taken out in a flower bedecked chariot. The idol was also decorated with jewels of antique value gifted by Wadiyars during princely rule and flowers of different hues.
Till October 14, special puja and Havana will be conducted to the presiding deity as part of the festival.
As the car festival was celebrated soon after the conclusion of Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara, hundreds of devotees and tourists alike witnessed the religious ceremony.
