Mysuru: While Opposition leaders are going full throttle on State BJP leaders’ alleged connection with ‘Santro Ravi’ accused of trafficking women and children, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai tried to dismiss these allegations by stating there will be investigation into all these alleged ‘connections’.

Pictures of prominent BJP ministers like K Sudhakar and BC Nagesh with ‘Santro Ravi’ aka KS Manjunath went viral on social media, the Opposition leaders are having a field day. Both Congress and JD(S) are cashing in on these pictures and several audio clips purportedly of ‘Santro Ravi’ that are being splashed across social media platforms. In couple of audio clips, the accused is heard bragging his connections in the BJP to a police officer who is allegedly seeking his help in transfers. Now, the pictures of BJP leaders with the accused has put the State BJP in embarrassment.

Speaking to mediapersons at Mandakalli airport in Mysuru on Saturday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the accused was in contact with even Opposition leaders. “I have instructed the Mysuru police to conduct a thorough investigation into cases – pending since 20 years – and take appropriate action against the accused.

He further said that hundreds come to meet him and his minister colleagues daily and it is not possible for them to check visitors’ background.

In this digital era, photomorphing or creaking fake audio clips are easy. However, the police have been instructed to look into all the pending cases against the accused.
