Buy farm fresh vegetables at Dasara Exhibition Ground

1 min read

Mysuru: Tension prevailed for sometime when the vegetable vendors at the Market on M G road refused to shift to Dasara Exhibition Ground.

While the farmers agreed to abide by the rule, the vendors opposed the decision and decided to suspend their trade till April 14, the culminating day of lockdown.

Following the lockdown declared in the country and the repeated appeal to maintain a social distance to check the spread of virus, the district administration had decided to shift the market to spacious exhibition ground.

Former minister and MLA S A Ramdas had also arrived on the spot to ensure smooth shifting of the market. However the vendors association took severe exception and questioned the rationale behind shifting the Market, albeit for temporary.

When Ramdas tried to convince them, the vendors besiegd the former, forcing to vacate the spot. The vendors also decided to close the market till resumption of normalcy.

However, the farmers were convinced to carry out their activities at Dasara Exhibition Ground for sometime.

As a result, the consumers are the beneficiary with the provision to buy vegetables directly from the growers.
