Burning of Karnataka flag, raising anti-Karnataka slogans! MP Sumalatha Ambareesh writes to Home Minister Amit Shah for action

Mysuru: Following the recurring Karnataka- Maharashtra boundary dispute, that escalated with the recent incidents of burning Karnataka flag and raising of anti- Karnataka slogans, Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh has written to Home Minister Amit Shah.
In her letter, Sumalatha has urged the home minister to take following steps pending the implementation of Mahajan Commission report.
To condemn the incidents that have taken place including the burning of Karnataka flag and chanting anti- Karnataka slogans.
Identify and investigate the perpetrators of these anti- national and anti- social activities in the border regions of Belagavi.
Provide additional peace keeping personnel to ensure that there are no other such incidents in these areas.
Sumalatha has highlighted that ” these anti- social elements under the pretence of peaceful political demonstrations regarding the border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra have resorted to disfiguring and damaging public properties. More alarming still are the instances of burning Karnataka State flag and chanting anti- Karnataka state slogans.”
