Budding scribes visit Vidhana Soudha, the seat of power

Mysuru: As many as 47 students of first year Mass Communication and Journalism, University of Mysore visited Vidhana Soudha, the seat of State legislature in Bengaluru on Thursday.

“Vidhana Soudha is an architectural marvel and a symbol of Karnataka’s political power. As we explored the grand structure, we were awestruck by its imposing facade, featuring Indo-Saracenic and Dravidian architectural styles”, the students said.
Inside, we marveled at the ornate interiors adorned with intricate carvings, majestic pillars, and colorful murals depicting Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage. The legislative chambers echoed with the voices of lawmakers engaged in debates and discussions, underscoring the importance of democracy in shaping the state’s future, the students said.

The students explained that, during our visit, we also had the opportunity to learn about Karnataka’s governance and legislative process through informative exhibits and guided faculties. From the history of Vidhana Soudha to its role in shaping state policies, every aspect offered valuable insights into Karnataka’s political landscape.
As we soaked in the ambiance of Vidhana Soudha, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in Karnataka’s democratic traditions and commitment to progress. Our one-day visit to Vidhana Soudha was not just a sightseeing experience but also a journey through Karnataka’s political heritage and democratic ethos, the students said.
Chairperson of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Prof M S Sapna said “The students visit to Vidhana Soudha was coordinated by Prof Mamatha as a part of practical exposure for reporting Assembly session.”
The students also had a chance meeting with Housing Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, in the corridors of the Soudha.
