State forest minister Satish Jarkiholi continues to be at the receiving end with the members of Brahmin community coming down heavily on him.
On Monday, scores of Brahmin community leaders staged a token protest under the banner of Mysuru nagara matthu jilla brahmana sangha, outside deputy commissioner’s office in the city. Under the leadership of Sangha president D T Prakash, they condemned the minister for the reported derogatory comments made by the latter while attending a convention of Congress party at Belagavi. The minister had said ‘ Barring soldiers belonging to AHINDA community including Muslims, there are no instances of Joshis, Deshpandes and Kulkarnis belonging to Brahmin Community sacrificing their lives in armed forces’.
Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha in Bengaluru has already complained to State Election Commission.
