BJP youth leader stabbed to death in Dharwad; 3 detained

Dharwad: Kotur Gram Panchayat vice-president and BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Kammar (36) was stabbed to death by miscreants during a village festival in Kotur, in Dharwad taluk on Tuesday.
It is said that Kammar was attacked when he tried to intervene between two groups clashing over distribution of prasad at the Udachamma Devi car festival in Kotur on Tuesday night.
Kammar who had sustained severe injuries was rushed to civil hospital and later to SDM Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Following a complaint by Kammar’s wife, Garag police have detained three. The investigation is underway.
Union Minister and MP Pralhad Josi along with Dharwad Rural MLA Amrut Desai visisted the SDM hospital, where Kammar’s body was kept.
BJP Yuva Morcha president Tejasvi Surya suspected political rivalry in Kammar’s murder and demanded immediate arrest of the killers, in a tweet.
