2 min read

Mysuru: BJP national General Secretary C T Ravi on Tuesday blamed Election Commission of India for conducting elections to various State Assembly leading to the wide spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the second wave in the country.

Ravi who visited Suttur Mutt and sought the blessings of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji later addressed media at the party office Sachin Rajendra Bhavan.

Ravi said “experts had earlier predicted about the second wave in August-September 2020. As it turned out to be false, we also did not take it seriously. Later there was a sudden outbreak of the virus causing scarcity of oxygen, remedesivir, and they have been addressed now.”

Ravi who denied violations of experts recommendations before second wave, blamed election commission again for announcing the dates ( of recently concluded Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and West Bengal). No political parties including Congress objected to the elections, Ravi claimed.

Referring to Siddaramaiah’s remarks on seven years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his achievements, Ravi said “Establishment of new AIIMS, Medical Colleges and Kisan Samman schemes and Rs20 lakh crore package and vaccination are all the achievements of Modi government. While Congress is engaged in readying tool kit against the government and provoke the people’s sentiments only to defame India, Ravi alleged.

On relevant political developments, Ravi feigned ignorance over Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s son and State BJP Vice- president B Y Vijayendra visiting New Delhi. Yediyurappa is our present leader and will remain unanimous CM of our party. I am unaware to talk about future, said Ravi playing it safe again.
