BJP MP taking credit for including Talavar community in ST: Cong

Mysuru: The District Congress Committee has accused Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha of hijacking the credit for enlisting Parivara and Talavara community in the Scheduled Tribe category.
At a press meet here on Wednesday, KPCC spokesperson M Lakshmana and District unit president BJ Vijaykumar were of the opinion that it was the previous Congress government led by Siddaramaiah who ensured that the Parivara and Talavar community are included in the ST category. But now, the BJP MP is taking credit for it, they held.
On BJP MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal’s rude remarks on freedom fighter and Gandhian HS Doreswamy, Congress leader Vijaykumar said the party condemns his words and will stage a protest against him.
