Birthday party turns gory! BJP leader stabbed to death in Mysuru

Mysuru: In a drunken brawl between friends, a BJP leader celebrating his birthday has met his tragic end.

Anand alias Vadda Anand, 45, was stabbed to death by his friends at a service apartment in Kuvempunagar.

The blood stained body was found in the flat, when the police rushed to the spot. He was found stabbed multiple times, with broken beer bottles. The incident is suspected to have occurred between 3 am and 4 am.

Anand who was the vice- president of BJP city slum Morcha was also a rowdy sheeter in Saraswatipuram police limits. He had also served a jail sentence for the murder of one Kumaraswamy on Maruti Tent road in Janatha Nagar.

According to preliminary investigation, Anand who was celebrating his birthday on March 5 had taken his friends to a booze party elsewhere. As the party stretched beyond midnight hours, they shifted to service apartment to continue with the bash. About six to seven people had accompanied him to the apartment. As all were high on booze, a dispute may have erupted when the others launched a bloody attack him in a fit of rage.

Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta said “we have collected information about those who had joined the victim in the bash. The investigation is on”.

DCP ( law and order) Prakash Gowda also visited the spot.
