Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology gets ICC Social Impact Award 2025

Mysuru: Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) has been awarded the prestigious “Early Detection of Cancer and Awareness Program” accolade at the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Social Impact Awards 2025.
This recognition highlights the hospital’s commitment to raising awareness and promoting early cancer detection across a wide region.
The ICC Social Impact Awards, known for celebrating outstanding contributions to social welfare and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in India, were presented recently in Kolkata.
The awards ceremony was graced by prominent figures such as Agnimitra Paul, MLA of Assansole South, Anshu Gupta, a Magsaysay Award Winner and Shekhar Mehta, former Global President of Rotary International.
Gowtham Dhamerla, COO of BHIO, expressed his delight in receiving the award on behalf of the hospital.
He emphasised that the hospital’s ongoing awareness programs, which span not only across Mysuru but also to neighbouring districts like Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, and Hassan, have made a significant impact.
These initiatives focus on educating communities about the importance of early cancer detection, leading to the timely diagnosis and successful treatment of patients. The credit goes to all right from doctors to all the other staffs in the hospital”.
Dhamerla further stated, “This initiative has been part of our hospital’s mission from day one, envisioned by our chairman, Dr. Ajaikumar, who is also the driving force behind BHIO. Our aim has always been to do more than just treat cancer; it’s about working towards the eradication of this disease. We firmly believe that early detection is key, and our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure that cancer is detected at its earliest stages.”
Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, under the leadership of Dr Ajaikumar, has been at the forefront of cancer treatment and awareness for over 35 years. The hospital has successfully treated more than 100,000 patients during this period, and its consistent efforts have earned it recognition International, national and regional level.
