Bharat Tex 2024: Central Silk Board signs 10 MoUs; two include CSRTI, Mysuru developed technology

Mysuru: Central Silk Board signed 10 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during Bharat Tex 2024, a flagship expo organised by Union Ministry of Textiles at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on February 28.

Among the MoUs were, the commercialisation rights of two technologies developed by Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute (CSRTI), Mysuru, were handed over by Dr Gandhi Doss S, Director, CSRTI to the concerned entrepreneur who purchased it. Chitin/chitosan extraction from sericulture waste developed by team headed by Dr Madhusudan, K N, Scientist D and Mr.Pro.- Solid Bio Formulation for management of root rot developed by a team headed by Dr Arunakumar G S, Scientist-C. 

Darshana Vikram Jardoshi, Union Minister of State For Textiles was invited as the chief guest for the MOU signing function.

Rachana Shah, IAS, Secretary Textiles and Prajyakta L Verma, Joint Secretary, Textiles (Natural fibres) were also present to grace the occasion.

P Sivakumar, Member Secretary and CEO, Central Silk Board, Bengaluru, Dr Mathira Moorthy S, Director (Tech), CSB-Bengaluru and Dr Madhusudhan K N, Scientist – D were also present during the signing and exchange of MOUs.

Azymus Life Science Ltd., Chamarajanagar and Rainbow Agrotech Pvt., Ltd., Kadapa have purchased technologies related to chitin/chitosan extraction and Mr.Pro technologies respectively.
