Bharat Jodo Yatra reaches Badanwal: Rahul pays tributes to Mahatma Gandhi

Mysuru: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Badanavalu village in Nanjangud taluk on Sunday.
Mahatma Gandhi had visited the village popular for its indigenous Khadi industry in the year 1927 on the invitation of Tagadur Ramachandra Rao, during freedom movement.
On Sunday as part of Gandhi Jayanti, Rahul Gandhi visited the village and took part in the celebration. He also offered floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
Rahul also took part in road cleaning programme, and interacted with women weavers at the khadi center.
Gandhi Bhajan and series of interactions are lined up to 3 PM.
Later Rahul will visit Srikanteshwara Swamy Temple at Nanjangud town.
After 4 PM Rahul will resume the yatra from Tandavapura village towards Mysuru and stay overnight at Dasara Exhibition grounds in Mysuru.
On Monday, Rahul will walk through the parts of the city as part of the Yatra from Hardinge Circle till Manipal Hospital junction on the outer-ring road on Mysuru- Bengaluru highway.
Rahul Gandhi who launched the Yatra from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu has travelled through the State, followed by Kerala, before entering Karnataka on September 30 through Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district.
