Bharat Jodo Yatra: Raise your voice against corruption in Karnataka, says Rahul Gandhi

2 min read

Gundlupet: All India Congress Committee (AICC) former president Rahul Gandhi on Friday gave a clarion call to the people of Karnataka to join him in the 22-day padayatra as part of Bharat Jodo Yatra in the State.

Rahul Gandhi who entered Karnataka through Kerala border at Gundlupet town, addressed a huge gathering of party workers.

In his address, Rahul appealed to the people of Karnataka to raise their voice against ‘corruption, inflation and unemployment’.

Rahul who explained the intention behind organising the yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, alleged that “BJP led Central government has a suzheraine control on parliament, media and other institutions of democracy, denying the due space for opposition parties. The mikes are turned off in the parliament and similar is the situation in Legislative Assemblies in several States. Hence, the Padayatra is taken out to hear the people and lend ears to their woes. Moreover, I am not alone as it is the voice of Hindustan”.

Saying it repeatedly that no force can stop the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said “From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Bharat Jodo Yatra has made it succinctly clear to be the voice against “BJP and RSS ideology to spread violence and hatred. It is to save the Constitution, as our national flag loses its meaning without Constitution. We will walk from dawn to dusk, irrespective of cold and hot weather conditions. It is not just myself in the Yatra, as lakhs of people will also walk with me. It is also devoid of violence, and all religion and linguistics people can participate. Some during the course of the Yatra may trip and fall in the crowd, but people will help them lift, without asking them about their caste and religion. This shows our Hindustan, the epitome of peace, brotherhood. Nobody can stop this Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. No force can stop this Yatra as it is the power of the Yatra”, reiterated Rahul.

“I will walk from six to eight hours from morning to evening hours. People share their agony about unemployment, inflation, atrocity on farmers, privatisation of PSUs. Likewise they share their pain and distress. There is no room for hours long speech, but only padayatra with 15 minutes interaction. It is to hear your woes, not to address”, said Rahul Gandhi.
