Bettadapura police arrest three inter- district cattle lifters

Mysuru: In a major operation, Bettadapura police in Periyapatna have busted a three- member inter-district gang of cattle lifters.

Nasrulla, Shaheel Pasha and Jainuddin are the accused three.

Upon their arrest, police have cracked 12 cattle lifting cases and four vehicle lifting cases and have seized vehicles worth Rs six lakh and Rs one lakh cash earned through selling beef.

The cases were cracked by a police team led by PSI Mahesh Kumar B K.

Jainuddin one of the accused was moving in a suspicious way near Soolekote, when the police apprehended him. When quizzed, he spilled the beans about his accomplices.

Following interrogation, the trio revealed more about their modus operandi of lifting cows and slaughtering them for selling meat to other districts. While they were lifting vehicles irrespective of cars and motorcycles.

With their arrest following cases are cracked. Hunsur rural police station- 4 cattle lifting cases, K R Nagar- two cow lifting cases and one sheep or goat lifting case, Periyapatna- two cow lifting cases, Bettadapura, Bylakuppe one each of cow lifting cases, Yelwal-one car, Bilikere and Hunsur town- one each of off mobile lifting case, Arkalgud in Hassan- one car lifting and Kushalnagar one cow lifting case.

Bettadapura police team also included – ASI Somashekar, head contables Girish, Raveesh, Manjunath, Raghu, Aslam Pasha, Ganesh, Ravi and Vijaykumar.

Additional SP R Shivakumar supervised the operation along with DySP (Hunsur sub-division) P Raviprasad and Periyapatna Circle Police  Inspector B R Pradeep.
