Before coming to Mysuru, IMF’s Gita Gopinath calls on Modi

Mysuru: Gita Gopinath chief economic advisor of International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be spending her Christmas vacation with her parents in the city.

She will be spending two days in Mysuru from December 26. However she will be not speaking to media, according to her father Gopinath with whom Mysoorunews.com.  spoke to regarding her schedule in the city.

It will also be her maiden visit to the city after assuming charge in January this year. Though she was supposed to come to Mysuru on December last, she couldn’t make it due to her pressing engagements.

Gita’s parents T V Gopinath and Vijayalakshmi reside at a house near Andolana Circle in the city. Gopinath is a progressive farmer and Vijayalakshmi a teacher.

Before travelling towards the city, Gita called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on December 23.

In her tweet where she has shared the photos of her meeting with the prime minister, Gita has described as follows- Had a productive discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the global and Indian economy. Look forward to continuing engagement between IMF and Government of India.
