Bear’s day out in Koppal town

Koppal: Tension prevailed for over three hours after a wild bear was spotted in Koppal town in Ballari district on Wednesday. It was finally rescued after the operation to trap the animal lasting three hours.
The animal was spotted at about 10 am, triggering anxiety among the onlookers. The forest personnel were informed about the incident.
Initially attempts were made to trap the animal in a net. The animal played a hide and seek for hours moving from one place to another as the onlookers raised alarm to scare away the animal.
It entered a warehouse and stayed there sometime, before coming out again.
Later, the veterinarians darted the animal with a tranquilizer gun.
