BCCI opens New National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) inaugurated its new state-of-the-art National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, now known as the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), near Kempegowda International Airport on Saturday.

Set on an expansive 40-acre campus, the CoE boasts of top-tier facilities, including three world-class cricket grounds and 86 pitches that cater to both indoor and outdoor training for budding cricketers.

Additionally, the academy features 45 outdoor net pitches for practice, all fitted with specialised safety nets imported from UK.

Beyond cricket, the facility includes a Sports Science and Medicine Centre designed to support not just cricketers but also top Indian Olympians. This multi-disciplinary focus aims to foster the development of athletes across various sports, enhancing the country’s overall sporting ecosystem.

The National Cricket Academy is a landmark step in advancing India’s sports infrastructure and training capabilities.

Chairman of International Cricket Council (ICC) Jay Shah, BCCI Chairman Roger Binny, Vice-president Rajeev Shukla, Joint Secretary Devadutt Saikia and Treasurer Ashish Shelar were present.
