Banned plastic seized: Rs 11,500 fine collected

Mysuru: In a continued operation against banned plastic materials still in use, Mysuru City Corporation ( MCC) officials on Tuesday seized 15 kg of banned materials from three cases.
A team led by MCC Environment Engineer Poornima from Zone-1, raided shops near N Madavarao Circle ( Agrahara) and Chamundipuram and seized plastic carry bags abd other such materials still in use.
A reputed sweet maker who
owns a chain of sweet marts also had to face the music. A highest of Rs 10,000 fine amount was imposed on the sweet maker alone.
The team also included Health Inspector Manjukumar and ‘Abhaya’ an emergency rescue wing of the city corporation.
