B V Karanth College Theatre fest from September 24 to October 5

Mysuru: Rangayana one of the popular theatre repertories of the country is gearing up to cater to theatre buffs ahead of Navaratri festival.
The annual B V Karanth’s College Theatre Festival will be held from September 24 to October 5 at Bhoomigeetha, Rangayana in the city.
Nine amateur student troupes from nine different colleges from Mysuru, Mandya and Kodagu districts will stage the plays. Among them two are government colleges, Joint Director of Rangayana V N Mallikarjuna Swamy has said on September 22.
Swamy said “Rangayana is also producing two plays- Bendakalooru written by late Girish Karnad and another to be directed by Sanjay Upadhyay a Pune based theatre director, which is a musical comedy.
Chidambara Rao Jambe who conceived the concept of theatre festival in the name of Karanth said “I am happy to acknowledge that more students are involving in theatre”.
The posters of the festival was released by the dignitaries, that included convener of the theatre festival Hulugappa Kattimani.
