B S ‘Why’ U- turn! Ember of ‘Mangaluru Fire’ing heats up again

The ember of fire that has been heating and heating especially after the controversy over police firing that claimed two lives in Mangaluru recently refuses to die.
The air blowing act with a pipe this time is by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa himself, who has announced to withdraw the relief of Rs 10 lakh announced to next of kin of two persons who died of bullet injuries.
With the police investigation underway, Yediyurappa has made no bones while announcing that if the deceased two are found guilty, the relief cannot be extended to their dependents.
Yet again, the gristle has been handed over to rival Congress leaders who have come down heavily on Yediyurappa. Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily who is back to his old days of practising law, has found many unbecoming of act of his successor, not an immediate successor in Yediyurappa. Moily also suspected that ‘Yediyurappa may have backtracked on his announcement’ under pressure.
Whatever may be the ground reality, and also the outcome of the investigation underway, one cannot ignore the fact that two persons have lost their lives, leaving behind their families including wives and children in distress. Both were breadwinners, who had much to take care of, for whom their family was the better world.
With a member of the house gone for eternity, that too untimely, it is not that easy to overcome the grief. When we have round the clock TV channels re- telecasting and rewinding the gory past, it will remain a grim reminder for the households. To be precise, the canker of wound goes deeper and deeper with no sight of balm.
When this is the unsavoury truth which nobody can deny, did all these went unnoticed for Yediyurappa, a leader who came from the family of farmers who are still considered as ‘ Annadatha’ (Producer of food).
Can Yediyurappa show the same sense by giving ‘food for thought’ and provide relief for the immediate family members of the victims of Mangaluru violence aka police firing.
