Mysuru: Less than a week left for the by- elections to State Legislative Assembly on December 5, former minister and MLA G T Devegowda is still aloof from the hustings.

Gowda who had announced to remain neutral from active politics for sometime stll remains nonchalant even amid the election heat, as Hunsur Assembly constituency has turned into a hot cauldron.

On November 27, Gowda was busy performing ground breaking ceremony for various developmental works at Rs 70 lakh under special component plan ( SCP) at Hanchya village. The works include laying of concrete road, repair of underground drainage, street light and other development works.

Former minister and disqualified MLA A H Vishwanath is seeking re- election from Hunsur on BJP ticket.

BJP leader and Health and Family Welfare Minister B Sriramulu and others recently called on Gowda seeking his support as he had represented Hunsur as MLA twice in the past too.

A section of JD(S) leaders too had met him seeking support along with Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

Congress leaders including Siddaramaiah are learnt to have spoken to him over phone seeking his support.

However Gowda remains tight lipped without making his intention public, as he is sulking over the alleged ill- treatment meted out to him during the previous JD(S) and Congress coalition government.
