Auto blast in Mangaluru: Cops trace terror link to Mysuru, carry out inspections

Mysuru: The police who are investigating into the case of bomb blast at an autorickshaw in Mangaluru, have cracked into its roots in Mysuru.

According to the ongoing investigation, the suspected terrorist behind the attack had stayed for sometime in Mysuru. He had rented the house of one Mohan Kumar on 10th cross, Lokanayaka Nagar in Metagalli in the city.

He had allegedly used an Aadhaar card that has turned out to be not his, to take the rented the accommodation, as his identity.

According to Mohan Kumar who was interrogated by the police team led by Commissioner B Ramesh at Metagalli station “a youth claiming to be a native of Hubballi, came to his home, seeking a house on rent. He had taken the house on rent for one-and-a-half months. I had no clue about his terror activities”.

The personnel attached to bomb detection and disposal squad and forensic wing also inspected the house, for clues, if any. 

On the other hand, the investigators have also collected information about the suspect going to a shop for training in mobile phone repair at Agrahara.

One Syed Ahmed a localite was accompanying the suspect to training. Acting on this, police have picked up Ahmed for questioning and have also taken him to T Narsipur for further investigation.

It may be mentioned that, two persons were injured after an autorickshaw they were travelling in exploded near Naguri in Mangaluru on Saturday. It was a low intensity blast that was caused by a pressure cooker fitted with improvised explosive device.
