Assault on Urdu journalist by pro-Hindu activists! SDPI general secretary Abdul Majeed demands arrest of accused

Mysuru: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) National General Secretary Abdul Majeeb has demanded the arrest of those who assaulted Urdu daily journalist in the city on Thursday.
Mohammed Safdar Kaiser Chief Editor of The Daily Kausar was assaulted by pro-Hindu activists during the convention of Hindu Jagarana Vedike on the premises of Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple.
In a press release, Majeed who has severely condemned the incident has stated that “rise in incidents of Sangh parivar workers assaulting journakists make for a dangerous development in the country and State. Now, a journalist in Mysuru is also attacked. The police were also not spared in the melee and it shows that the Sangh parivar workers are indulge in disturbing peace and law and order. If the journalists don’t have security what would be the fate of common people? Majeed has questioned.
The journalist should be ensured justice and the should initiate action at the earliest. The journalists should be given adequate security by the police, Majeed has stated further.

In a separate video message, SDPI Mysuru district unit President Amjad Khan has also severely condemned the incident.
