Assault on assistant registrar: KSOU VC denies charges, announces suspension

Mysuru: Vice- Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Prof S Vidyashankar has denied the allegations of assault and other charges made by Pradeep Giri Assistant Registrar of Examination branch.
VC told media persons “Being a responsible person at the varsity I can’t indulge in such acts against a staffer. Moreover the person in question was erring in maintaining office timings. He was reminded about the circular of timings to be maintained by the staff as he came late to work after lunch. He showed adamancy when asked about coming late to work”.
Moreover, he has been kept under suspension, added VC.
It may be mentioned that, following a complaint by Pradeep Giri, Jayalakshmipuram police have filed a FIR against Devaraju Special Officer and VC Vidyashankar.
