Ashada Friday Puja at Chamundi Hill from July 5

Mysuru: Preparations are on for Ashada Friday Puja from July 5 at the temple of Goddess Chamundeshwari at Chamundi Hill in the city. The puja will be conducted on four Fridays from July 5 to July 26. On July 24, vardhanti mahotsava of the presiding deity will be celebrated at the hill shrine.

Additional Deputy Commissioner B R Poornima on Tuesday conducted a preliminary meeting and directed the officials from various departments to be prepared to organise the annual event without giving room for any complaints.

Like previous years, arrangements should be made to ferry devotees from the temporary bus stand near the Hotel Lalit Mahal Palace helipad. KSRTC buses will be deployed for free transportation and the barricades and shelters should be erected for the benefit of devotees.

Temporary water proof shelters should also be set up, along with temporary toilets. Separate arrangements should be made for parking two wheelers and four wheelers.

Closed circuit TV cameras should be installed and lighting arrangements should be made, followed by the deployment of doctors and health personnel.

Measures should be taken on safety of food with areangents being made to distribute prasadam to devotees at Dasoha Bhavan atop the hill. The devotees will also be distributing prasadam on their own.

Executive officer of Chamundeshwari temple Prasad, MUDA Superintendent Engineer Suresh Babu, Tahsildar Mahesh Kumar, Tahsildar ( Protocol) Naragund, ACP Gajendra Prasad and MCC Environment Engineer Poornima were present.
