As Yediyurappa steps down as CM, childhood pal in Mysuru calls it ‘shocking’

Mysuru: As Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced his resignation on Monday, his classmate in Mysuru was shocked to hear the news.

Shankar Rao a resident of Yadavagiri in the city studied along with Yediyurappa at Government Town Middle School in Mandya.

Yediyurappa is a native of Bookankere in K R Pet taluk in Mandya.

Rao who exclusively spoke to Mysoorunews.com said “Yediyurappa is a highly enthusiastic person from childhood. That’s the reason he chalked out several schemes for the cause of poor.”

Yediyurappa who was focused on women’s welfare announced Bhagyalakshmi scheme for girl child and distributed free bicycles to girl students, Rao said.

Shankar Rao reminisced Yediyurappa’s visit to his house in the city, when the latter was deputy chief minister.

However, Rao wasn’t lucky to meet Yediyurappa when he became chief minister.
