Annual Day! Specially-abled steal show at Ranga Rao Memorial School For Differently Abled

Mysuru: Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled by NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NR group, celebrated 34th Annual Day in the school premises.
B Basvaraju, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Development graced the occasion as chief guest. The event was inaugurated in an unique way by inviting the parents of the students to do the honors along with R Guru, Chairman, NR Group.
B Basavaraju, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Development said “We can only build our nation better, if we build our children better. By providing our children not only with education, but also life skills we can ensure a better society.”
Annual day which is one of the biggest celebrations in RMSD, was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event featured a variety of cultural programmes by the students. The children captivated the audience by performing Action Song, Vande Mataram Group Dance, Krishnavathara Group Dance, Swayamvara Comedy Skit, Folk Dance etc.
“This is a proud day for us. Ranga Rao Memorial for Differently Abled has touched many lives in all these years. The enthusiasm and liveliness of the students are incredibly priceless; this gives us the passion to continue to do what we do.” said, R Guru, Chairman, NR Group.
Annual day is one of the most anxiously awaited and biggest celebrations for the Alumni too and they participate in large numbers. The event was concluded with prize distribution followed by vote of thanks.

Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled [RMSD] is a free residential school for visually challenged girls from the economically disadvantaged background, giving them confidence to be responsible for themselves. It is the first started school in the Karnataka State exclusive to the Girls, the current strength of the school is 85, with a committed set of teachers and Ranga family members serving them for the last 34 years. Students passed out from the school are today working at various institutions and leading their life with dignity which stands testimonial to the noble cause initiated by the NR group.
