Animal Welfare Board member from Mysuru writes to minister, seeks aid for over 188 goshalas in State

Mysuru: Dr S K Mittal member of Karnataka Animal Welfare Board (KAVB) from Mysuru division has written to Minister for Animal Husbandry Prabhu Chauhan seeking urgent financial assistance to 188 plus goshalas of the state.
Chauhan is also the Chairman of Animal Welfare Board.
The country is facing Corona disaster and complete lockdown. Millions of citizens were examined and a huge percentage of people were found positive. Lockdown restricted the earnings which severely affected donation and also source of earning of 188 plus gaushala, pinjrapole animal shelters, sale of milk etc. Situation is very grim and all are looking towards your helping hands, Mittal has explained to the minister.
The Uttar Pradesh government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came forward with more than one billion grants providing Rs 30 per day per cattle for two to three months.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani came forward with helping hands allocating Rs 700 million and provided Rs 25 per day per animal for 4.5 lakh cow & cattle sheltered in Goshalas etc.
Covid situation in more severe in Karnataka compared to above States. As a fair
estimate we have approximate 25,000 livestock in 188 more Karnataka shelters. Most of all goshalas are at the collapsing level. It is right time to announce and provide required assistance, Mittal added.
“I want to mention here that 2020-21 grants were issued on the basis of recommendation of DD AHVS and deputy commissioner. I suggest to use the same data and suitable funds be released as soon as possible. I am at your kind disposal for assistance, if any, required from my end,” said Mittal.
It will certainly receive bring laurels for our State and our beloved cow progeny lover Chief Minster BS Yediyurappa.

Mittal has also marked the copies of the letter to Prinicpal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Capt. P Manivannan, Commissioner Basavarajendra and Director Dr Shivaram member secretary of the Board.
