Ananthagana Ashwathayana: A musical tribute to Mysore Ananthaswamy, C Ashwath on March 28

Mysuru: Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat Mysuru and V V Creations, Mysuru, are jointly organising a special musical event, “Ananthagana Ashwathayana,” to honour the legendary singers C Ashwath and Mysore Ananthaswamy. The event is scheduled for March 28 at 5 PM at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, on JLB road.
This musical evening will showcase
the timeless compositions of these maestros, offering the audience a chance to relive their
melodious legacy.
The programme is being conducted under the leadership of Dr Nagaraj V Bairy, President of the Mysuru District Unit of Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat and Vimala Viresh.
The event will be inaugurated by M D Sudarshan, Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department. Several other distinguished guests will grace the occasion, including senior journalist Amshi Prasannakumar, Dr Y D Rajanna, former President of Mysuru District Kannada SahityaParishat and Jayappa Honnali, a poet.
The musical performances will be led by singers Nitin Rajaram Shastry, A D Srinivas, Indrani Anantharam and Hansini, who will bring the mellifluous songs to life with their soulful renditions.
They will be accompanied by talented percussionists, including Srinivas on keyboard, Virendra Prasad on mandolin, Puneet on flute, Bhimashankar and Indushekhar Prasad on rhythm pads and
Raghavendra on tabla.
“Ananthagana Ashwathayana” is not just a tribute to two iconic composers but also a celebration of Sugama Sangeetha (Light Music), a genre that has touched the hearts of many. The event aims to keep their musical heritage alive and inspire future generations of music lovers.
