Amshi Prasanna Kumar to chair maiden conference of MDJA

Mysuru: Senior journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar has been elected as the maiden president of first conference of Mysore District Journalists Association ( MDJA).

The conference is scheduled to be held on December 14 and 15 at Gawadagere in Hunsur taluk.

Vice- president Manju Kote, General Secretary K J Lokesh Babu, State committee representative M R Satyanarayan, secretary Dharmapura Narayan, executive committee members Machamma Mallige and Jayashankar Badanguppe and Hunsur Taluk Journalists Association president Shivakumar Rao are seen.

Amshi Prasanna Kumar is the Assistant Editor of Kannada Prabha and is head of the Mysuru bureau.

The name of Amshi came up during the executive committee meeting of the association chaired by president C K Mahendra.

The committee unanimously decided the name of Amshi. Amshi who has over 30 years of experience in the field, has previously served as the president of MDJA. He is the former member of Karnataka Media Academy.

The committee has also decided to invite Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Suttur Seer Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji, Nataraja Swamiji of Gavadagere Mutt, District Minister V Somanna and a host of other dignitaries.

It is also decided to invite P Sainath a pioneer in the field of development journalism, political analyst D Umapathy and others for three sessions planned during the conference.
