Amidst lockdown, PFA and volunteers feed hundreds of stray dogs

1 min read

Mysuru: The lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19 cases is not only hard on humans but harder on stray dogs and other animals. With no shops or restaurants open, these creatures are finding it difficult to search for food. Thankfully, animal lovers in the city have come to their rescue.

People For Animals (PFA) along with other volunteers in the City are feeding stray dogs and other stray animals. They have obtained permission from the City Corporation and chalked out an outreach programme in these difficult times.

People for Animals’ Savitha Nagabhushan told mysoorunews.com that “Many of these dogs are dependent on hotels and bakeries for food. Besides, some kind-hearted souls too would feed them. With the lockdown, one could fathom their plight.”

After collecting passes from the civic body, they have been feeding the dogs from March 29. We are distributing packs of canine foods to the volunteers free of cost, to those feeding street and stray dogs. We have distributed more than 400 kgs of pedigree and drools dry food free of cost to the volunteers”, said Savitha Nagabushan.
