Amid rumours of change in guard, Veerashaiva- Lingayat leaders call on CM Yediyurappa

Bengaluru: As speculations are rife over change of guard in the state, leaders cutting across party affiliations, especially of Veerashaiva-Lingayat community are meeting Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
Former minister and Congress MLA Dr Shamanur Shivashankarappa who is also the president of Akhila Bharata Veerashaiva Mahasabha met the chief minister at the latter’s home office Cauvery.
Shivashankarappa accompanied by Veerashaiva- Lingayat Development Corporation Chairman B S Paramashivaiah discussed about range of issues related to the community, it is learnt.
They also reposed their faith in Yediyurappa a tall leader of the community and reminded that the Mahasabha is with him always.
Earlier in the day, another Veerashaiva- Lingayat leader M B Patil also called on the chief minister.
Following the recent visit of the chief minister to Delhi, rumours are agog that Yediyurappa will step down as chief minister on July 26.
