Mysuru: The BJP high command has issued a standing instruction to all its candidates to remain in their respective Assembly constituencies in Mysuru.
This decision comes after exit polls following the Karnataka Assembly election giving an edge to Congress and the possibilities of grand old party getting a simple majority in almost half a dozen surveys.
To counter this, BJP has instructed its candidates not to move away from their respective constituencies, as the Congress may try to track and influence them.
Interestingly, JDS leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has gone to Singapore, following the exit poll, as the party is locked in a tough fight in few districts of old Mysuru region. They are particularly worried about their corroding nvote base in Mandya and Mysuru districts, with BJP doing all its mite to make in roads in these parts.
KPCC President D K Shivakumar is confident and hopeful that the party will win 141 seats, more than the numbers predicted by surveys and form the Government on its own.
However, Shivakumar criticized the exit poll surveys, saying that the predictions are made under political pressure.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is facing a tough fight in Varuna constituency is also confident that the party will come to power with 150 seats. He is currently focused on his calculations and the prospects of the party.
