Mysuru: Amid the raging controversy over the demolition of Adishakti Mahadevamma temple at Huchgani village in Nanjangud taluk, Nanjangud Tahsildar M C Mohana Kumari met Suttur seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and former chief minister B S Yediyurappa at Suttur mutt in the city on Friday.
Mohana Kumari is in the eye of the storm of pro-Hindu activists for pulling down the temple.
Several pro-Hindu organisations including Hindu Jagarana Vedike on Thursday protested against Mohan Kumari and deputy commissioner.
The right-wing activists are demanding for the suspension of both DC and Tahsildar for acting in a hasty manner by razing the temple.
Raising a similar demand, Bajrang Dal had called also for a protest at district and taluk centres in coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada recently.
The Mohana Kumari’s visit to the mutt and meeting the seer and Yediyurappa has raised several eyebrows.
