After Congress’ worst show, Siddaramaiah, Dinesh Gundurao to resign?

1 min read

Bengaluru: It seems Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah and KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao are mulling over stepping down from their posts in the wake of Congress party’s flop show in the by-elections.

The grand old party that had lost highest of 13 MLAs to ‘Operation Kamala’ could win only two seats in Shivajinagar and Hunsur.

Of the total 15 seats that went to by- elections, BJP won highest of 12 seats and independent one seat.

Vexed over the outcome, Siddaramaiah is learnt to have discussed with those in his coterie to step down as Opposition Leader. It is to avoid the possible brick bats from his adversories within the party, as he had been in the lead of campaigning for the by- elections.

Siddaramaiah is expected to take a call only after discussing with former speaker K R Ramesh Kumar.

However he has already discussed with AICC President Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel.

Dinesh Gundurao is also thinking over similar lines.
