1 min read

Mysuru: A day after the continuous ban orders issued by the police to restrain any kind of protests against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens came to end on December 22, various progressive organisations have announced to stage a mega protest on December 24.

Karnataka State Backward Classes Welfare Forum President K S Shivaram announced that “All the organisations will be protesting at Town Hall”.

Retired prof B P Mahesh Chandra Guru called BJP MPs Prathap Simha and Tejasvi Surya as “Slaves of Cultural fascism”. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described some as “Urban Naxals” and now it’s time to call BJP leaders as “Urban Terrorists”.

Describing both CAA and NRC as unconstitutional, Guru called BJP led Central Government as “Anti- democratic, Anti-people and against social justice”. The country is facing the threat of losing its Secular status. So we are in favour of bringing back “India as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhiji and Dr B R Ambedkar”.

Writer Kalegowda Nagawara, Congress leader P Raju and Puneeth were present.
