Mandya: ADGP (Traffic and Road Safety) Alok Kumar inspected Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway on Tuesday to review measures taken to prevent accidents on the stretch.
It may be recalled here, following repeated accidents on the Expressway, ADGP Alok Kumar had inspected the Expressway from Ramnagar and had suggested several measures to curb frequent accidents on the stretch.

It is reported that since the adoption of the preventive measures, accidents on the stretch have been considerably reduced. July witnessed 27 accidents of which three persons lost their lives in three accidents. About 30 persons sustained injuries in rest of the incidents. This is a remarkable number considering the death toll on the stretch, in the last six month.
Among several measures, mobile speed radars were introduced to check the speed limit of the vehicles plying on the stretch. Besides, there was continued police patrolling on the stretch to keep an eye on rule breakers, drunken driving and other violations. Also, the patrolling team continued to ensure that there were no unnecessary stoppages by vehicles and vehicles were abiding lane discipline. This has apparently helped in bringing accidents down on the Expressway.
As a result, ADGP Alok Kumar accompanied by IGP Ravikanthegowda, SP Kartik Reddy, NHAI Regional officer Vivek Jaiswal and Expressway Planning Officer Rahul Gupta inspected the Expressway.
