Mysuru: Dr Arun kumar (47), Additional Chief Medical Superintendent of Railway hospital, Mysuru, South Western Railway, succumbed to complications related to Covid infection.
According to Priya Shetty, Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior PRO, “Kumar was in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Apollo BGS hospitals for more than one month and passed away on Saturday due to cardiac arrest. He is suspected to have caught infection while attending to patients”.
He was a MBBS graduate from Vijay Nagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary in 1996. He belongs to 1996 batch of Combined Medical Services of UPSC and joined railways in 1998. He served in different hospitals and health units of South Western Railways.
He is survived by wife Dr Devatha Laxmi Medical Officer, Health and Family welfare Department and a son Srikar.
Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru condoled the sad demise of Dr Arun kumar who worked relentlessly treating railway fraternity during Covid times, the release added.
