ADC Manjunatha Swamy inaugurates ‘Handicrafts Expo 2021’ at JSS Urban Haat Mysuru

Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner B S Manjunathaswamy inaugurated Handicrafts Exhibition 2021 at JSS Urban Haat at Hebbal in the city on Friday.
JSS Mysore Urban Haat has organised
Handicrafts Exhibition 2021 under the sponsorship of Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, from December 24 to January 2, 2022.
Manjunathaswamy who inaugurated the exhibition visited the stalls and interacted with artisans.
In all 40 stalls are accommodated, with artisans from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh participating with various sustainable materials like wood, bamboo, clay and coconut shell artifacts including Mysuru rosewood inlay at the expo.
Director ( Auditing Section) JSS Mahavidyapeeta Santhanam explained about the previous exhibitions and government’s coordination to artisans through JSS Urban Haat. Hundreds of artisans from across the country arrive in Mysuru and display their handicrafts,” Santhanam stated.
Deputy Director (Handicrafts) Sunil Kumar, JSS urban Haat project director M Shivananjaswmay and Coordinator Rakesh Rai were present.
The expo will be open between 10 AM and 9 PM.
