Actor Prabhudeva restores Mahadeshwara temple in Mysuru

Mysuru: Ace choreographer and multilingual actor Prabhudeva took part in a puja related o the restoration ceremony of an ancient Mahadeshawara temple at Kembal village in Nanjangud taluk on Mysuru- Hullahalli road on Wednesday.

Prabhudeva, a theist, has donated a significant sum for the restoration works of the temple, where the idol of Linga exists since time immemorial.

It was his mother Mahadevamma’s vow that he has fulfilled by restoring the temple.

Barring the Garbhagudi (Sanctum Sanctorium), the temple lacked extension area, that has been added now with Prabhudeva making a significant contribution towards the construction cost. 

Prabhudeva accompanied by his wife Dr Himani Singh, parents Raju Sundaram, a veteran choreographer, mother Mahadevamma, brother Nagendra Prasad, also an actor, and his relatives took part in the rituals. 

Prabhudeva’s daughter, who will be turning two in June, also took part in the rituals.

Prabhudeva’s mother hails from Doora village in Mysuru taluk, located five kms before Kembal.

Prabhudeva’s parents own two farms in Doora. They visit the village on several occasions, keeping their bond with the village intact.
