Actor Irrfan Khan passes away at 54

Mumbai: Noted Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away on Wednesday. He was 54.

Irrfan who was battling cancer since 2018 had been admitted to the hospital for colon infection was under observation for 24 hours, when the end came.

He leaves behind his wife Sutapa and sons Babil and Ayan.

Irrfan’s last release ‘Angrezi Medium’ hit the screens recently to the overwhelming response especially on digital medium with the theatres stopping screening of the movies due to lockdown in place.

Irrfan who debuted with award winning ‘Salaam Bombay’ in 1988 had acted in several memorable flicks including ‘Maqbool’, ‘Life in a Metro’, ‘Lunchbox’, ‘Paan Singh Thomar’, ‘Piku’ in Hindi to name a few.

He had also acted in severalHollywood movies like- ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Amazing Spiderman’, ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Inferno’ among others.
