Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa appeals people to adopt zoo animals

Mysuru: Karnataka Forest Department’s Ambassador and Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has appealed to public to adopt animals at Zoos in the state.

Darshan has released a video message making an appeal to public and animal lovers about the animal adoption.

The significance is, the message coincides with World Environment Day today.

Actor Darshan has shot the video message at Mysuru Zoo (Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens) and posted on his social media handle. From Love birds to Elephant and Tiger to other animals, Darshan has explained in detail about the various animals up for adoption, after paying a requisite fee.

Zoo authority of Karnataka has launched an unique mobile application to raise funds to take care of zoo animals.

Across Karnataka, there are nine zoos, which are currently in crises as they were solely dependent on the revenue generated through gate fees.

Following the Covid induced situation, all the tourist spots are closed, and so also zoos that were once bustling with visitors and tourists.
