Actor Chetan Ahimsa arrested over tweet on Hindutva

Bengaluru: An objectionable tweet on Hindutva has landed actor Chetan Ahimsa in trouble. On Tuesday, Seshadripuram police arrested the actor after a complaint was filed against him by Shivakumar a Bajrangdal activist .
He tweeted that “Hindutva is built on LIES Savarkar: Indian ‘nation’ began when Rama defeated Ravana & returned to Ayodhya – a lie; 1992 – Babri Masjid is ‘birthplace of Rama’ — a lie; 2023 – Urigowda-Nanjegowda are ‘killers’ of Tipu— a lie. Hindutva can be defeated by TRUTH— truth is EQUALITY.”
Chetan was produced before ACICM Court and has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Chetan is a Sandalwood actor turned activist, who has been vocal against Hindutva since long, that has landed him in trouble most of the times.
In February 2022 also, Chetan had been arrested for his alleged controversial remarks on a High Court judge hearing the Hijab case.
While in June 2021, Chetan had been booked for his offensive remarks against brahmins and brahminism.
Following a complaint by Brahmins community, Bengaluru City Police had also booked two FIRs against Chetan.
