Actor Anirudh Jatkar urges Tourism Minister to restore Aihole temple architecture

Bengaluru: National award winning Sandalwood actor Anirudh Jatkar, submitted a memorandum to Tourism Minister M B Patil for the conservation of the historical Aihole temple in Bagalkot district.
Anirudh, the son-in-law of late actor Vishnuvardhan, drew the attention of Minister Patil, in his memorandum, highlighting the cracks in the sculptures at Aihole temple, which is known for its architecture.
Anirudh, who visited the temple recently after several years, was initially happy, but was astonished to find cracks appearing in the temple and sculptures, that have a historical significance. If left unattended, they may lead to dilapidated condition, lacking in appeal gradually, he has explained in the memorandum.
Anirudh urged the Minister to take steps to restore the architecture with the expertise of Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, for posterity.
