Chamarajanagar: A radio-collared wild elephant that had been a headache to farmers and forest officials has been captured from Gopalaswamy Hills range in Gundlupet.
The jumbo had been raiding the farm lands in the area and the farmers had complained to the forest officials. The officials with the help of elephants – Abhimanyu, Nagendra, Ganesha and Bhima – managed to capture the wild elephant at Kadaikote in Gopalaswamy Hills range on January 8.
The wild elephant has now been sent to Rampura elephant camp in Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
